You’ve passed $100,000 in annual revenue, and now you want to get rich mowing lawns and win $1 million in revenue.
If you take the right steps and tools, you can achieve this goal and start getting rich mowing lawns in no time.
In this 2-Part series about getting rich mowing lawns, we talked about reaching $100,000 in revenue in Part 1. In this final Part 2, we’ll talk about your next goal: reaching $1 MILLION in annual revenue.
Many lawn care owners hit their biggest bottlenecks right before they hit $1 million. You’re not alone in these bottlenecks, so don’t get discouraged.
In this article, I’ll tell you exactly what you should be focusing on and the tools you should be using to take your business from $100,000 to $1 million before you know it.
Now that you’ve surpassed $100,000 in annual revenue, you have enough clients to be making a name for yourself.
You can begin spreading your word of mouth referrals by shifting your focus to providing THE BEST lawn care service in your area.
Go above and beyond by giving your clients extra things like:
Small things like this mean SO MUCH to your clients, and it shoes you’re willing to go the extra mile to make them feel special.
This type of lawn care service is rare, so your clients are going to be way more likely to refer you to their friends and family when they know you’re the best in town.
You’ve built strong relationships with your lawn care clients, and you’ve been making enough profits. For these reasons, you don’t want to raise your prices.
… This type of thinking WILL END your lawn care business.
You MUST continue to evaluate your prices on a yearly basis. The cost of living increases every year, so your lawn care prices should increase too.
Just remember, you also need to take into account that some clients SHOULDN’T be touched. Not everyone will need their prices raised every year. This is why you need to evaluate ALL of your clients individually to find out how profitable each job is.
No matter how strong of a relationship you have with your clients, you have to remember that you’re STILL running a business - not a friendship.
If some clients don’t like your price increase, then you can replace them with more profitable clients. In reality, it’ll actually take fewer profitable clients to replace your minimally-profitable ones.
In most cases, I’ve seen lawn care owners surprised by how many clients that are okay with annual price increases.
Most ideal clients understand that your costs go up every year, so your prices have to go up too.
Side note: If you haven’t increased your prices in years, don’t be surprised if you have to make a significant price increase.
Whenever you rollout a new increase in your lawn care prices, you want to raise your least profitable clients’ prices first. This way, if you lose them as a client, it doesn’t matter.
When you raise your least profitable clients’ prices first, you can work out the kinks and perfect the process before you deal with your profitable clients.
Once you’ve found a perfected process, you can begin raising your prices on the rest of your clients.
In addition to consistently raising your prices, if you want to increase your annual revenue, you’ll have to create offers that can’t be refused.
You can create unrefusable offers via:
It doesn’t really matter how small your offer is. It can be something as simple as $5 off their next service.
Depending on the offer, you can promote it via email, two-way texting, social media, etc…
The main point is this: you’re trying to break down any final barriers to quickly convert anyone that’s interested in taking the next desired action.
In Part 1, we talked about how if you want to reach $100,000 in annual revenue quickly, then you’ll have to get your clients to pay by credit.
Now that you have even more clients, credit cards are even MORE important than they were before.
When you’re still trying to reach $100,000 in annual revenue, you don’t have to charge all your lawn care clients by credit card… But it’s certainly faster and will save you loads of time and money along the way.
However, when you’re trying to reach $1 million in annual revenue, you MUST charge ALL your lawn care clients by credit if you want to be a successful lawn care business.
Did you know that your clients are willing to spend about 83% MORE with you when they pay by credit card?
In other words, you can’t afford to not be charging your clients by credit card!
By this point, hopefully, you’re already convinced or have implemented credit cards into your business. Though, if you’re not, I strongly urge you to check out Part 1 of this series.
In order to reach your goal of $1 million, you’ll have to choose an all-in-one lawn care software that’s fully integrated with a credit card processor you can trust.
